Bone Marrow Transplant

A surgical procedure used to transplant healthy bone marrow into a patient whose bone marrow is not working properly. The procedure is recommended for patients who have bone marrow disease, immune system disorders or specific forms of cancer like leukemias, lymphomas and myeloma. Bone marrow transplants are not patients with heart, kidney, lung or liver disorders or with other diseases that may limit survival.
