Burch Procedure

Used to treat urinary incontinence, the Burch procedure is used when the bladder or urethra has fallen out of its normal position. The goal is to restore them to their normal position in the pelvis. The procedure can be performed through open abdominal surgery or laparoscopically. Eighty to 85 percent of women treated with the Burch procedure are cured.
