Cervical Fusion

A neurological procedure performed to relieve pressure on one or more nerve roots, or on the spinal cord. The surgery involves the stabilization of two or more vertebrae by fusing, or locking, them together. The fusion stops the vertebral motion and, as a result, the pain is also stopped. The procedure is ideal for patients with injuries or fractures to the bones in the spine; a herniated disc; or a weak or unstable spine caused by infections or tumors.
