Chest Pain
A discomfort or pain felt anywhere along the front of the body between the neck and upper abdomen. Chest tightness, pressure or discomfort can be caused by a number of factors, varying in severity. More severe causes of chest pain are heart attack and angina. Other, less severe causes include asthma, pneumonia, strain or inflammation of the muscles and tendons between the ribs and anxiety or rapid breathing. Diagnostic tests and exams to establish the cause of chest pain include blood tests, cardiac catheterization, ECG, exercise ECG, lung scan and X-Rays of the chest.
