Computed Tomography Angiography

CTA is an examination the uses X-rays to visualize blood flow in arterial and venous vessels throughout the body. CTA is commonly used to examine pulmonary arteries; visualize blood flow in the renal arteries in patients with high blood pressure; identify aneurisms in the aorta or other major blood vessels; identify dissection in the aorta or other its major branches; identify a small aneurism or arteriovenous malformation inside the brain; detect atherosclerotic disease; and detect thrombosis in veins.
