Focused Professional Practice Evaluation

Required by the Joint Commission, FPPEs apply to new applicants for medical staff membership and to practitioners requesting new privileges for which the hospital has no documented evidence of their competence. A FPPE involves an intense assessment of a practitioner's credentials and current competence.
