Genetic Testing
Allows the genetic diagnosis of vulnerabilities to inherited diseases and can be used to determine a person’s ancestry. Genetic testing is the analysis of RNA, chromosomes, proteins and certain metabolites in order to detect inheritable disease-related genotypes, mutations, phenotypes or karyotypes, for medical purposes. Types of testing include newborn screening, diagnostic testing, carrier testing, prenatal testing, predictive and presymptomatic testing, forensic testing and research testing.
