Headache

Pain or discomfort in the head, scalp or neck. There are four types of headaches, including vascular, muscle contraction (tension), traction, and inflammatory. The most common type of vascular headache is a migraine. When headaches occur three or more times a month, preventive treatment is usually recommended. Treatment options include drug therapy, biofeedback, stress reduction and elimination of certain foods from the diet. Regular exercise can also reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches. Some drug therapy is available for treatment, too.
