Hearing Loss

Total or partial inability to hear sound in one or both ears. Causes for hearing loss may be genetic, congenital, infectious, traumatic, toxic or occupational. Diagnostic tests and exams to confirm hearing loss include an electronic hearing tests, auditory response test, CT scan of the head, X-Ray of the head, tympanometry, caloric test and MRI of the ear or head. Treatment options include a hearing aid or cochlear implant.
