Hyperlipidemia

An elevation of lipids in the bloodstream. Three types of hyperlipidemia occur, including hyperlipoproteinemia, hypocholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. Elevated lipid levels may lead to cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis and acute pancreatitis.
