Investigational Treatment

In clinical trials, investigational treatments refer to a drug or treatment that has had basic lab testing and received approval from the FDA to be tested on human subjects. Clinical trials of an experimental treatment go through several phases of testing before being approved for general use. Drugs or treatments may be approved for use in one disease or condition but also considered experimental for other uses. Also known as experimental treatment.
