Knee Replacement

Known as total knee arthroplasty, knee replacement surgery relieves pain and restores function in severely diseased knee joints. Knee replacement is ideal for patients with severe knee problems caused by osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other degenerative conditions such as avascular necrosis. Patients should be in typically good health before undergoing knee replacement surgery. After undergoing surgery, patients typically require at least six weeks of physical therapy.
