Lumbar Laminectomy
A surgical procedure that removes the lamina, the bone that curves around and covers the spinal cord. The procedure is recommended for patients with lumbar spine disease caused by herniated invertebral discs, abnormal growth of bony processes on the vertebral bodies which compress spinal nerves, trauma, and stenosis of the spinal column around the spinal cord.
