National Association of Independent Review Organizations

The National Association of Independent Review Organizations was established to protect the integrity of the independent medical review process. The organization represents most URAC-accredited IROs. Using the expertise of hundreds of board-certified clinicians throughout the country, its members use an evidence-based medical review case approach to resolve coverage disputes between enrollees and their health plans. The need for uniform regulations from state to state and a uniform application process brings NAIRO members together. Their goal is to simplify the regulated IRO/ERO application process and review requirements among the states.
