Percutaneous Transhepatic Cholangiogram

An X-ray of bile ducts inside and outside the liver. The X-ray is taken after a medium contrast is injected directly into the area being studied. The test can identify whether a blockage in the bile duct is causing jaundice or pancreatitis. Abnormal results, such as enlarged ducts, may indicate infection, scarring, stone or cancer.
