Photodynamic Therapy

PDT is a treatment for cancer that uses drugs, called photosensitizing agents, and light to kill cancer cells. PDT is used in cancers to lengthen survival and improve quality of life. It is used most commonly for esophageal cancer, certain skin cancers, non-small cell lung cancer and some tumors of the vagina, vulva and cervix.
