Utilization Review Accreditation Commission

The Utilization Review Accreditation Commission is a non-for-profit organization that promotes healthcare quality by accrediting healthcare organizations. The organization offers quality benchmarking programs and services that keep pace with the healthcare system evolution and provides accreditation to assure quality and accountability of an organization. Independent review organizations and other companies involved in healthcare utilization review are often URAC-certified for a period of five years. Because of its status as an accreditation organization, many state and federal government agencies look to URAC as the basis for consumer protection.
