Vest Airway Clearance System
A treatment option for over 575 diagnoses, the Vest Airway Clearance System is commonly used to treat bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, primary ciliary dyskinesia, post-lung transplant and spinal injuries. The system works by filling and deflating an inflatable vest which gently compresses and releases the chest wall up to 25 times per second. This motion creates mini-coughs that dislodge mucus from the bronchial walls. The treatment requires very little therapy for patients.
