One in three girls got cervical cancer vaccine

According to the Center for Disease Control, one third of teen girls received the vaccine against cervical cancer. The results come from a 2008 telephone survery of the parents of nearly 18,000 adolescents who allowed researchers to check their kids' vaccination records.

The rate of vaccination is an impressive one and shows the power of medical discoveries and research into preventative care. Furthermore, it is a positive number for vaccine proponents who say the shots could prevent the 4000 American deaths a year to cervical cancer.
